The Art of Visual Science explores the process of creating scientific illustrations. Scientific illustration is a specialized form of visual communication that interprets and explains discoveries and concepts in science and technology. A scientific illustrator is an artist who uses observational, technical, and artistic skills to produce images that combine artistic integrity with scientific accuracy. This exhibit includes original illustrations, preparatory sketches, images, and explanations of tools and processes used by Julianne Snider in her work as a scientific illustrator.
